Children in Worship

Aldersgate would like to encourage you to bring your child to church! During all worship services, activity bags are available in the vestibule, (where you come into the sanctuary), for kids. They include quiet activites and children’s bulletins that connect to the day’s worship service. If you don't see the tan basket they hang out in, be sure to ask one of the greeters or ushers and they will be glad to locate one for you.
At our 11:00 am Sunday service, there is a special "children's time" in the order of worship. All of our children and younger guests are invited down to the altar railing for a special message just for them. Afterward, the K5-1st grade students are led upstairs by adult volunteers to the Faith Depot, (located in the elementary educational building), for "Children in Worship" - a program that helps our kids begin to make that transition into the full worship service by 2nd grade. Parents may take K3-K4 children downstairs to the nursery to participate in a younger version, called "Celebration Station", led by our nursery workers. Older children, 2nd grade and up, should return to their seats with their parents and be encouraged to follow along with the order of worship bulletin.
If your child is unsure about participating, feel free to come with them a time or two to help ease their fears. Once they see you are okay with it, they will be too.
