DINNER & A MOVIE

Jesus lived with the awareness that God is doing something, right here, right now, and anybody can be a part of it. He encouraged his listeners to search, to question, to wrestle with the implications of what he was saying and doing. Wherever he went, whatever he did, Jesus started discussions about what matters most, because for Jesus, God is always inviting us to open our eyes and join in. We’ll be watching a short 10-15 minute film and then discussing it. Topics range from forgiveness and unconditional love to silence and Sunday morning routines. No homework – no preparation. Each week is a new film and new discussion
Jan. 5 - Feb. 9
Leader:  Rev. Mike Bruce

METHODISM 101: FOUNDATIONS

The United Methodist Church has made the news recently but do people really know who we are? Even more, do you know who we are? Or where we came from? What do we believe? How are we organized? We’ll explore the beginnings of the Methodist movement in England with its goal of spreading Scriptural holiness across the world. We’ll look at the foundation of Methodist theology and our doctrinal standards. We’ll finish by spending a couple of weeks looking at how the United Methodist Church is organized from a global standpoint and as local churches.
